Guided Adventure Motorcycle Tours

Tankwa Biking was founded in 2009 by Carl Metelerkamp who is a certified and registered South African Adventure and Cultural guide with badge number WC9703 who is also a level 3 first aider.

Our adventure motorcycle tours will take you to some of the most beautiful remote locations in South Africa. We conduct our tours mostly on good hard packed gravel roads in the Tankwa Karoo, Namaqualand, Cederberg, Klein Karoo, Southern Cape, Baviaans Kloof and South Western Namibia.

To date we have taken over 90 tours. In 2022 in partnership with a Nepalese tour operator we took a tour to Nepal which we will repeat in October 2025.

Bikes

We have a fleet of well maintained 2008 Kawasaki KLR650’s that are only available for rental as part of an organised tour. Riders are also welcome to join our tours on their own Dual Sport Motorcycles provided the engine capacity is 250cc or above. Our tours are backed up by a support vehicle with a motorcycle trailer.
